Gilded Teas is a small organic loose leaf tea company, based in central Ohio.

Hi im Kennedy Watkins the founder of Gilded Teas. I started my business as a way to spread the message about encouraging minorities to join the STEM and agriculture fields. My interest in encouraging minorities to join the STEM field started in Barbados and continued through my gold award. After I got the Gold Award recognition I wanted to continue spreading the message so I started Gilded Teas. I make my own loose leaf tea blends and sell online and at local farmers markets. My companies mission is to encourage minorities to join the STEM and agriculture fields. Starting a new business has been a learning curve and is giving me a lot of opportunities to step out of my comfort zone. Gilded Teas targets health conscious tea drinkers who before learning of my company were not aware of the stem field from a minority perspective. I want to use my companies platform to teach a new audience about this.

I'm Kennedy Watkins. Hi, happy to have you back! I started my company, Gilded Teas from a hobby of gardening that I turned into a small business with a mission to empower minorities to join the STEM field. Through Gilded Teas, I also empower girls to be in the STEM field. I am currently in College for Computer Science so the STEM community is close to my heart. I received my Gold award for Girl Scouts by creating lesson plans to teach elementary students how to code. I want to continue that work through my business. I speak often about my experience in the STEM field and the importance of encouraging more women to join. Follow to see my journey as I learn about the Tech industry and grow my business!
